Last updated: 11 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how we process the personal data of visitors to worksandwords.info (the “Site”), under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and the Data Protection Act (Chapter 586 of the Laws of Malta). If you are located in the United Kingdom, the UK GDPR applies to you on equivalent terms.

This Site is informational: it presents the catalogue of the Works and Words publishing imprint and its book series. It does not collect data through contact forms, does not process payments and does not use profiling or advertising tools.

1. Who processes your data (Data Controller)

The Bridge – The Third Millennium Teaching Ltd, with registered office at CMS House, Third Floor, St. Peter’s Street, San Gwann SGN 2310 (Malta), and Tax ID MT 3292-4705.

Privacy email: privacy@thebridgettmt.com

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO), as we are not legally required to do so.

2. What data is processed

Browsing data. The server hosting the Site automatically records technical information: your IP address, your browser and device, the date and time of your visit, and the pages you view. This is used only to operate the Site, keep it secure and protect it from abuse.

Technical cookies. The Site uses technical cookies only, necessary for it to function and to remember the language you have selected. It does not use profiling cookies, analytics tools, advertising pixels or social plugins. Typefaces are hosted on our own servers and are not called from external providers.

No data collection forms. The Site contains no contact forms, newsletter sign-ups or application forms.

3. Why we process it, and on what legal basis

  • Operating the Site, security, abuse prevention → Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
  • Remembering your chosen language → Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
  • Complying with legal obligations or requests from authorities → Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR)

4. Who else sees your data

Browsing data passes through our hosting provider, which processes it on our behalf as a data processor (Art. 28 GDPR) on servers located in the European Union. We do not sell, publish or transfer your data to third parties for commercial or advertising purposes. We may disclose it to the competent authorities where required by law.

5. Links to other sites and book purchases

This Site does not sell directly and does not process payments. The “Purchase” buttons and the author links take you to sites other than this one. By clicking them you leave this Site: from that moment your data — including purchase and payment data — is processed by the operator of the destination site, under its own privacy policy, which we invite you to read.

6. Data stays in the European Union

The Controller is established in Malta (EU) and hosting is located in the European Union. We do not transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area.

7. How long we keep data

Server logs (including IP addresses) are kept for no longer than 12 months. Technical cookies last for the session or until the expiry set by your browser.

8. Do you have to give us anything?

No. The Site does not ask you to provide any data. Browsing information is collected automatically, as on any website.

9. Your rights

At any time you may ask us to give you access to your data, to correct it, erase it, restrict its use, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to obtain its portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Write to privacy@thebridgettmt.com: we will reply within one month.

As the Controller is established in Malta, the competent authority is the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC) — idpc.org.mt. You may also contact the authority in your own country: in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) (www.ico.org.uk).

10. How we protect data

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data from unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No system is 100% secure, but we work to make ours as secure as possible.

11. If this Policy changes

We may update it over time. Changes will be published on this page; the “last updated” date always indicates the version in force.

12. Artificial Intelligence Transparency Notice (EU AI Act)

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, worksandwords.info informs users that certain support processes, graphic layout elements or educational materials may make use of generative Artificial Intelligence tools. All textual, educational and training content on our site and within our programmes is fully reviewed, verified and approved by our team before publication. Any audio or video material produced through voice synthesis or digital avatars is clearly labelled as such, in compliance with legal obligations.
